The wedding ceremony, which is normally held under an arch of beautifully scented flowers, is quite short and conducted in Greek, along with an English translation. Following the wedding vows, the rings are exchanged and the Bride and Groom are pronounced Husband and Wife. This is followed by a volley of shotgun fire in typical Greek tradition, to signify good luck to the happy couple.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds are taken, either by car or horse drawn carriage to the reception, followed by a stream of cars carrying their guests, beeping their horns, again in keeping with Greek tradition.

On the morning of your wedding, Weddings on Zante will arrange, if requested, for the Bride, the Bridesmaids and mothers of the Bride and Groom to have a makeover with one of the islands leading hair and beauty stylists.

Flowers, including the floral arch, Bride and Bridesmaids bouquets, button holes and table arrangements can also be arranged and colour co-ordinated to your liking. Nothing is too much trouble - just ask Amanda.

Photographs and video can be taken anytime and anywhere, you decide what the perfect backdrop will be for your wedding day, from our extensive range of locations. An official photographer and video can be arranged, although with the advent of digital still and video cameras this is obviously optional.

In order to meet the necessary Greek law requirements your documents will be translated. Three months prior to the wedding the "No Impediment to Marriage" papers must be applied for, therefore all the paperwork must be mailed or faxed to us in order for the translating procedure to begin.

Greek law also requires the signature of two witnesses, usually the Best Man and Chief Bridesmaid.
